This saying reminds us that, Change is not as
difficult as we lead ourselves to believe. It does require sustained focus and
commitment, but it is reachable. In other words it means that You can’t change
the direction of the wind but in adjusting your sails you will be able to move
along and enjoy the view; the philosophy behind it is that looking at the real situation of sailing ships,
sometimes the wind blew from the wrong direction, in order to reach the
destination sailors had to adjust the
sails accordingly in order to stay on course.
How can we apply this saying in our daily life?
In our daily life, the wind represents a problem
that might occur in our life, such as finding yourself in a situation which
makes you unhappy. Hence rather than trying to change the person or situation
causing the unhappiness, change the way you tackle it. In other words maybe But
it means don't try to change what's influencing you, change yourself; concentrate
on yourself making a change don't blame your atmosphere for a problem,.
In Christians life, every Christian with a
commitment to excellence and a yielded heart to the Holy Spirit will regularly
see needed areas of adjustment and growth. At these points, we must seek the
power of the Holy Spirit and purposefully cooperate with Him as He works change
in our lives
But when we are in hard time we need to our adjust
our sails catch the winds and move briskly into the future. Let change our thoughts
and behaviors we need to avoid the stereotypes, prejudices judgements.
Once we accept our strengths and weaknesses, we can
work on what needs to be changed. Sometimes we don’t see a change in our lives
because we are not ready to change our behaviors.
